Day of Week: Thursdays
“I learned a long time ago the wisest thing I can do is be on my own side.” Maya Angelou
Class will be held virtually through Zoom
Do you treat yourself as kindly as you would a close friend when they are suffering or struggling and are in need of compassion? Chances are your self-judgment could be less harsh and you could treat yourself more compassionately. Self-compassion is treating ourselves as we would like others to treat us.
During this eight week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement and stretching, loving kindness exercises, and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential ingredient of healthy relationships.
You will receive a workbook of class materials and resources. A yoga mat and an open mind are all that you need to provide. Taught by a licensed professional therapist, you will be supported in any way that you need throughout your MSC journey.
Registration for Information Sessions and Classes is required by calling Jan Miller at 248-736-3755 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
